Current Version: up to v0.11.1 (Windows x64)
Instructions:
1 – Download and place version.dll in the same folder as Shale Hill Secrets vX.XX.X.exe.
2 – Optional. You might want to block this game in the firewall as it constantly pings google analytics. (As far as I can tell, as of v0.9, it only logs menu clicks and game choices)
3 – Open the game and you should have all Platinum Bonus Scenes and be able to play up to the latest chapter.

I like the art style, myself, and the story has kind of caught me and the “Straight Pride” guy in the game makes me laugh with his innocence and tweaking the nose of expectations. There are people who are pure in their joy, and that’s fun to see portrayed here.
The story’s core premise is not at all realistic but the fallout and things that happen around those story beats are more real, making this a game more about Story than Porn. No worries if that’s not your thing.
The inconvenience of setting up each update has turned me off this for now, just like Ray, but I’m sure I’ll be back.

WARNING: I’ve only played through Episode 3.
This is not a sexy sex-times game. This is not a sandy sand-box game. This is a story game largely VN with elements of both in it and it rivals any other game here for writing and craftsmanship. It’s also good on the story, dragging things out a little longer than maybe they needed but not as long as some of the most story-focused games like Life in Santa County, the blue-balls simulator.
The game is mostly a mystery. The MC gains access to a computer program that allows him to spy on other people’s computers and phones. That is the central story that ties everything else together.
Delaying the release of free chapters and asking for money for the newest chapters is well deserved. No harm if you’re looking for something faster-paced.

I really liked this game, sadly I play on Android, so no file over 2 GB works. I didn’t find it tedious at all and enjoyed the story. I don’t understand people getting angry about patreons getting content first, many developers put their heart and soul and countless hours into these, how would you feel if you had to work for free?
