First, just going to get this out of the way: HAREM! Seriously, the crux of the pressure point is gone if you just make a harem path as an option. It can be something to unlock; it can be something you don’t say is obvious – but if you get enough points with each girl, it should happen regardless.

* If you are going to treat this like a reference of character troupes, with characters the MC SHOULD NOT know about at the point, you literally use him to INTRODUCE characters YOU created to TELL the audience what they’re about – instead of letting us draw inference like a DATING SIM should… – then Harem is a thing you can/should arguably MUST do. At some point. Because fuck off with the “but thou must! = choose only one”

– It’s NOT a dating sim if you literally have the MC state clearly, he loves and/or would straight up PREFER to stick to the “side character” with massive tits. That ALSO really should NOT be the only reason he’s dating her. Also, also – and here’s a freebie – if she’s willing to let him come inside of her; she should be aware of the consequences and thus willing to suggest a harem path, since she’s the good-natured ditz who wants him to be friends with all of her friends as some sort of bullshit trust test. (Which if true, would auto dock her points with me, but hey…) He can’t leave her if she gets pregnant without looking like a massive dick; and that would/could and should make all of her friends abandon him in general. So your premise in the core of the story is borked just with the first sex scene [Never mind that it was ridiculously short with no choice to avoid an internal ending – which is usually something I have to advocate for, so believe me… not complaining. It just wasn’t appropriate in this context as it LOCKS the player to the default if you really want to be an ass about things down the line.

There’s also the point of DO NOT choose the “protagonist” of the story FOR THE PLAYER. Idiot. That’s the point of a DATING SIM. The protagonist is whoever the fuck the MC/Player chooses to devote their time to. You’re creating player bias by flagging her character as a “Mary Sue” and stating the MC does not like her. Jesus Mother Fucking Christ who taught you how to structure a story??? You have ideas of who the characters are, and you’re supposed to. You’re also SUPPOSED to let the dialogue and mannerisms of said characters SHINE through for the player as they go, on each individual path. To either ingraciate, or create a rivalrous tension that is still chemistry by attraction. Even if purely physical in the latter case. How the fuck do you not know that?

Literally just started the game, and two seconds in you’ve screwed things this badly. On top of probably not making a harem path, so I’m very likely going to be forced one way or the other. Which I dislike in the first place. You’re going to do what you’re going to do I guess. It’s your story. But this was not the best way to introduce anything. It’s going to hurt your chances of keeping an audience overall. I know that I’m less likely to check back in after this stellar start. But then again, I’ve only got my two cents, and like it used to be popular to say [Though it’d be more popular if he’d finish the next damned book, I know…] Words are wind. Which technically also isn’t true. Words are intonations, carried by the “wind” as our throat’s ability to project sound, and interpreted by the brain once our ears have caught the vibrations… but it’s not like I have a fire to split these roasted hares over. (It’s a joke guys… calm down)

Ugh so many novels peek my interest until I read “sandbox” ruins the experience imo.
