Story - After a promising predecessor, "Christmas Eve," New Year's Day falls short of capturing the same charm. While the previous game showcased an attempt at a romantic connection between characters, this one fumbles. One major drawback is the forced relationships with side characters, including Becky. It would have been preferable if these relationships were optional, allowing players more agency. - 62%
Visual - Visually, New Year's Day is a mixed bag. The artwork offers decent quality, presenting characters with reasonable detail. However, it fails to leave a lasting impression, lacking the wow factor found in some of its contemporaries. While the visuals are competent and serve their purpose, they don't compensate for the game's narrative shortcomings. - 74%
Engagement - This is where New Year's Day truly stumbles. The game's predecessor cultivated a light-hearted, fun atmosphere that resonated with players. Unfortunately, this installment takes a complete 180-degree turn, venturing into darker territory. The lack of player agency also takes a toll on engagement. With limited choices and a seemingly "kinetic" style, the game fails to offer the interactive experience. - 70%
Core Loop -New Year's Day loses its footing when it comes to the core loop. The game veers away from its initial wholesome roots, delving into more controversial and uncomfortable themes. For those seeking a genuinely enjoyable and feel-good experience, this shift is a major disappointment. The game loses sight of what made its predecessor special, ultimately alienating its target audience. - 70%

Game has potential to be really good, but sadly everything is kinda B grade. Models need more work, have a good base to be hot but come off as a little creepy looking. Renders and Animations are also lacking in quality. Story premise is decent but the writing is really flat and boring. Story also needs more excitement or drama. MC also should of taken the job he was offered, would of been good to build out the story.
No choice, no game.
clearly tagged as a kinetic novel. you had a choice, you played it anyway.
No i didn’t, my comment is based on the tag, i’m to old for comics.
well if you were smart you would know this is not a comic
Dont play it like a game.
Read it like book.
