Sins of Night [Release 3.5] [MakinWaves]

Developer Notes:

  •
In my attempt to make a sandbox as streamlined as possible, there’s a fair bit of complicated code behind the scenes. There may be bugs in the early versions, so please report any strange behaviour. Ideally giving as much info as you can! (Attaching a save file is also super helpful!)

This game will contain toggleable sharing content, in much the same way my last game (Love & Vice) did. All sharing content will only happen if you choose so (choices are marked), and you can toggle the choices to be hidden entirely.
Presently, the only sharing content is suggestive in nature. But that will soon change.
Consent is important, so I have no interest in forcing this on you if you don’t want it!

If you’ve played my other game Love & Vice, then you’ll a good idea of what to expect in the future. The only major difference I’d highlight is the inclusion of some femdom content. Given the setting, I thought it would be appropriate! Though I’ll continue to offer you as much say as possible when it comes to what content you view.

The dreaded sandbox renpy game… I’ve done my best to streamline the experience, with the intent of giving you a non linear game, and as much freedom as I reasonably can. If you’ve been burned before, I’d suggest you might find this one a bit easier to play.
The wider game world is currently very barren, due to time constraints. But I’ll be adding a bunch of new things over the coming updates. I ultimately want you to have plenty to do and explore!

Be aware the game has not been tested on mobile devices yet, and due to the large amount of ui navigation, I suspect there will be issues. You might want to wait for an official mobile version before trying to play!

Story - The story leans heavily into familiar vampire tropes, spinning a yarn that feels like a remix of many that have come before. Unfortunately, the narrative lacks depth and often resorts to cliché scenarios and motivations that don’t quite gel. The choice-based relationships feel tacked on, leading to bizarre moments. - 60%
Visual - On a brighter note, the visual presentation is one of the game’s strong suits. The character designs are bold, steering away from cookie-cutter models and embracing more unique traits that add flair to the experience. Environments are crafted well, creating an atmosphere that echoes classic vampire aesthetics. The renders are solid, and the art direction shows promise. - 81%
Engagement - This is where *Sins of Night* falters. The dialogue can swing wildly from engaging to exasperating, leaving players unsure of character motivations and relationships. While it attempts to create a sandbox environment, the execution is lacking. The grinding elements can feel tedious, demanding players to relive the same scenes over and over just to progress. - 48%
Core Loop - The core gameplay loop flirts with being enjoyable but ultimately gets bogged down by repetitive tasks and an undercooked progression system. The dynamic schedule system, where events can overlap and be missed, adds unnecessary frustration. Players are often left spamming trivial events instead of engaging with the juicy content they actually want to explore. - 55%

  1. This seemed to start out with a lot of promise, but once the “real game” starts, it devolves into a grind fest and like a great many of these games or VN’s, the new content provided between updates is paltry, recommend (if you like this project) to only check back on it ONCE PER YEAR… SMDH.

  2. States sharing is optional then proceeds to make the only available sex scenes for sharing cucks. It’s obvious what this game is and it is FUCKING RETARDED to claim it is anything else.

  3. The game has really nice beginning. Other characters made interesting power dynamic, good writing made me want to assess and evaluate my opinion on every character and perverted vampire society/home drama -premise did feel nice for AVN. I really liked the erotic atmosphere with the family, even if it did have uncomfortable “monster living with pray” -feel. I think the optional sharing route does fit well on it. Three spices; taboo, domination and sharing, did all together exceed the line where i did feel comfortable. But you can choose to make them “friends” and love only you. Or mix how you want. I love these games where you can dial it on both directions enough, that you don’t feel uncomfortable on first playthrough. Forcing reader to watch too much overbearing harem love, serial sleep rapist, crying cuckold MC or other extreme fetish is not a good game design. But options are always welcomed.

Visually game is good, but there isn’t that much sexual content at this point. I did not find any of the women beautiful. Little too trashy/masculine for my taste, but good enough. Game concentrates heavily on sexual/vampire aspect, so there isn’t much interactions that would have build emotions for readers against women. At least taboo, sharing and dominating did bring emotions to sexual content, but on base women are either perverted vampires or mind controlled love slaves.

Game is good, but more i played, more the sandbox questing did start to decrease the value of the story. Later the sandbox style did truly raise its ugly head, with forced grind of same scenes, but few small modifications or something. Or weird minigames. Or do same event to see other conversation options. All your regular annoying sandbox elements. At least you can do it all from menu and no need to run around map. I think in the end sandbox will destroy all the emotional connections that the story did build at the beginning. 3,5/5

  4. Again with a “you choose the type of relationship you want with X girls…” But NO HAREM tag. If there can be NTR and Swinging, why the fuck wouldn’t you include one that lets us KEEP ALL of the girls you’re constantly making us GRIND for?!?

The sandbox is bad enough. NTR doesn’t need to be there. Femdom doesn’t need to be there. Prostitution DOESN’T NEED TO BE THERE. (It would take a VERY patient and understanding person to want to date a prostitute; and a prostitute generally isn’t going to “date” anyone, until and unless they WANT to leave the business. Jackass. That’s NOT how they work) Superpowers don’t make up for the tags that don’t need to be included; when Pregnancy and Harem are also not included.

I may give this a shot, but if I can’t eventually get to a harem path, it won’t be one I play to the finish. This goes double if the NTR/Femdom scenes aren’t ENTIRELY avoidable.

    1. You commented on the lack of a tag and commented that other tags didn’t need to be there without seeing what the game is about?

I don’t know why you don’t hit the #harem tag and stick to those if this is how upset you get without even starting up the game. It seems like you’d be a lot happier that way.

      1. To the user with the name I’m not going to justify by repeating: No, I am most certainly not the most insecure person on this site. That title would properly likely belong to users like Globohomo, Rancor, and Truth or Pride – if they’re not the same user. You are actually pretty high on that list as well, just for your username. I chose mine for layered reasoning. There are several ways it can be taken, if you think about it.

To My apparent #2 fan – first, I didn’t know I had even one, so thanks. Second, I’m not upset. I don’t get upset at games, specifically. I do get frustrated with borked story, and skewed plot points. Frustrated is not the same as upset. You would not want to see me “upset.” I simply pointed out that several tags don’t need to be there, using Caps as Emphasis. Which I’ve stated I do in general, over many, many comments on any given game I’ve reviewed and or critiqued thus far. The statement in the overview that says play how you want, does not include a harem tag to identify the path is in fact there. There is NTR and Swinging, it says play how you like and choose your own adventure: I and many others would rather choose Harem. Plain and simple. There are a LOT of games on this site that do seem like they’ll build to one, and for Example Ataegina references the term constantly, but they end up as dating sims in the long run. If I’m going to play the damned game; and I specifically mentioned I might at some point (it’s low on the list, but it’s still on the list) then I’d prefer a little clarification about what choices I can actually make. Because I do not want to see certain content; and some of it will make me rage quit.

      1. WOKE RTARD comments:
        “You are insecure”
        “You are homophobic”
        “You are extreme right”
        “You are intolerant”
        “You are hater”

But WHY NOT add choices FOR ALL.
In straight path, MC shoot the face of all male love interest without shame.
In gay path, you shoot all female love interest. And play 100% gay path.

The problem is WOKE RTARDS doesn’t ADD CHOICES in straight path. Always kinetic path with “SKIPPABLE” content. No choices of replace MMMMMMF sissy scene with alternative MFFFFFFF scene in straight path.
