Here we are. We have reached the end of the first journey of Return to Roots. I faced many problems and was in a bad mood, which made me lose the desire to continue the project, but I chose to act differently.
Instead of stopping the project, I decided to break it down into episodes. So, in this patch 1.0, I added a substantial lingerie scene and included an upskirt at the beginning of the park scene. It’s not much, I know, and you already know the ending, but this way I can wrap up the project and try to make other games.
ince it’s episodic, I can finish this Episode 1 as it is and try the Steam route, offering it there at the same price as here, with the same content. If it monetizes well, as I hope, nothing would stop me from continuing with a potential Episode 2.
I realized that the Patreon route doesn’t suit me and actually makes me anxious. What I want to do is this: see how much success the first episode of Return to Roots can have on Steam, and if it works, try experimenting with other types of video games in the meantime.
Since this is my very first game, I have to admit that I’m finding it a bit stagnant, even though I’m attached to it. I’d like to explore the sandbox route or more ‘playful’ games. You also know that AI has evolved in the meantime, and I’d like to experiment with other stylistic directions as well.
So in version 1.0, you’ll only get one added scene, but in return, I’ll make ALL the content from the now-closed Patreon available to you, of course, for those who have purchased the game.
