Editor's Rating
Story - Invulnerable sets off on an interesting premise rooted in parody, particularly drawing from familiar superhero tropes. The narrative, focusing on Mark and his involvement with the Viltrumites, offers some comedic elements and familiar faces that fans of the genre may appreciate. Plot stays within a predictable framework—a mix of humor and light-hearted escapades that can feel a bit one-note. - 74%
Visual - Let’s be honest—the art in Invulnerable is where the game truly shines. The character designs are well-executed, vibrant, and engaging, ensuring that the visuals stand out amidst the gameplay shortcomings. Each scene is adorned with a level of polish and flair that makes it easy to forgive some of the game’s other faults. The aesthetic quality is crucial for a game centered around adult themes. - 87%
Engagement - This is where Invulnerable takes a nosedive. While the engaging art lures you in, the gameplay quickly steers you into tedious waters. The repetitive clicking and cumbersome navigation through menus can kill any sense of excitement the story might spark. Many players report time slipping away as they grind through mundane tasks—a far cry from the engaging setups initially promised. - 51%
Core Loop - Oh boy, the core loop of Invulnerable is a mixed bag, but mostly, it's a bag you want to toss out the window. The gameplay consists of monotonous tasks with little reward, often making players feel like they are stuck flipping burgers more than interacting with the rich narrative context. The linear training grind just adds to the frustration; there’s a heavy reliance on grinding stats. - 38%

Bro thinks the creator of the game is following the comic storyline. Sure, it has similarities, but the content is so little so far that you can finish the game within minutes. As for the Kirkman’s take on Superman, he made that comment literally for people like you, to rile you up. Power-scaling between different comic characters is so dumb. Even you, yes you, can write a character that could beat superman, doesn’t mean anything. Just enjoy different stories separately.
As a fairly prolific writer, I’ve actually written several characters that are orders of magnitude in comparability to Superman, and potentially more powerful… that’s neither here nor there, since my work is by and large as yet unpublished. Nor is it in Comics. I wasn’t “riled” by the statement; I find it narcissitic and idiotic. Because as you stated; every writer can SAY their character could beat Clark… but in the comics presented Mark does not have nearly the same feats to his name – constantly gets his ass handed to him and is only alive because his GF/WIFE is ACTUALLY the over-powered one (which might say something about Kirkman to be honest) * Besides, beating Clark isn’t the same as keeping him down. Nobody’s ever managed to do that – and if DC is at all any sort of smart, no one ever will. (They tried it already with The Death of Superman, and that went so well they had to bring him back) Also, I am aware it was more a publicity stunt. However it proves my point.
* So you’re aware, caps are for emphasis. Not a commentary on emotional state. I’m not angry, and by the way, a PARODY of something DOES have to hit most of the beats in a given story – to be called such in the first place. So yes, though there are going to be situational changes to accomodate whatever this author wants to imply with his take on the characters, it’s going to have to hit at least the major arcs to be recognizable as a parody of Invincible. I do find it funny you replied at all, and more that you didn’t reply under my comment… but I’ll appreciate you actually put enough thought into your refutation to have a genuine paragraph. That’s something.
I’m going to say considering Pregnancy was fairly prevalent in the actual comic series this is based on (Mark’s Dad had a second kid during the narrative, and Eve gets pregnant at least twice – and even with the FemDom vein of Anysa; she got pregnant as well, more than once but it would only count the once if you’re going to involve her. Unless you wanna do the whole Neotori thing where Mark as the MC cucks the eventual husband that character gains WAY too quickly and really shouldn’t have) I’m surprised it’s not in the tags. It probably should be at some point, even if this is a parody. [It’d also be kinda funny to add repli-Kate (And yeah I know about her in the comics – but she and Eve were rivals over Rex, so it’s not impossible in an “Alternate Reality” setting) I may give this a shot at some point. Even though I disagree with a LOT of the narrative in the comic itself * Or Kirkman’s take that Mark could ever in a million years beat Superman]
