  1. Statistics on Sexual Promiscuity Among Homosexuals

28% of homosexual men had more than 1000 partners
79% of homosexual men say over half of sex partners are strangers
Modal range for homosexual sex partners 101-500
1978 study, 78% of gay men ad more than 100 partners, 28% more than 1000
There is an extremely low rate of sexual fidelity among homosexual men as compared to married heterosexuals.

    • 1978? A sociology study that’s almost 50 years old? I mean, I’m impressed that you actually posted information, and I honestly do hate gatekeeping but you’re going to have to go fuck off if you think that information is probative.

So I did a little research of my own. Probably more than he did. Here is the very two paragraphs of Wikipedia’s “promiscuity” article, subsection homosexual males:

      >> A 1989 study found having over 100 partners to be present though rare among homosexual males. An extensive 1994 study found that difference in the mean number of sexual partners between gay and straight men “did not appear very large”.

      >> A 2007 study reported that two large population surveys found “the majority of gay men had similar numbers of unprotected sexual partners annually as straight men and women.”

I clicked through the sources and learned some other interesting facts but why deny anyone the joy of learning. If you think this information is wrong, it’s there to dig deeper.

      The article continues:

      >> The 2013 British NATSAL study found that gay men typically had 19 sexual partners in a lifetime (median). In the previous year, 51.8% reported having either 0 or 1 sexual partner. A further 21.3% reported having between 2 and 4 sexual partners, 7.3% reported having between 5 and 9, and 19.6% reported having 10 or more sexual partners.

I think these more modern studies handily disprove the much more dated one. But let’s get to the most interesting part of this section:

      >> Regarding sexually transmitted infections (STIs), some researchers have said that the number of sexual partners had by gay men cannot fully explain rates of HIV infection in this population. Most gay men report having similar numbers of unprotected sexual partners as straight men on an annual basis. Unprotected receptive anal sex, which holds a much higher risk of HIV transmission, appears to be the major factor.

Now, do we trust Wikipedia over Homophobe With An Agenda? Maybe. Wikipedia isn’t the most trustworthy source, but it does show its work.

Wait! I’m not done! The paragraph above the section on homosexual male promiscuity is on *straight* male promiscuity.

      >> Research by J. Michael Bailey found that heterosexual men had the same level of interest in casual sex as gay men. However he found straight men were limited in their ability to acquire high numbers of female partners. According to Bailey, “These facts suggest that women are responsible for the pace of sex. Gay and straight men both want casual sex, but only straight men have the brake of women’s sexually cautious nature to slow them.”

So according to that study we can, in fact, thank women for helping straight men in slowing their roll.

I’ve tried not to cherry-pick anything here. I’ve only given the same kind of surface-level view that Nohomo has, and it can be picked apart and would be interesting to do so.

Homosexuals *do* have a higher rate of transmitting HIV than straights, but giving half the story and cherry picking it so obviously like Nohomo does, above, is dishonest at best, manipulative at the most typical.

That is Nohomo’s M.O. I don’t have to use insulting words to disgrace him, it’s just more fun that way.
