I’m not necessarily FOR Cam girls in games – and especially not in Harems; but I will attempt to explain this one.

First – it depends on what boundaries you’d define as “cheating.” Most, do note: MOST players are perhaps lightly uncomfortable with, to perfectly fine accepting that “their” girl in the game goes online in the privacy of her own home/studio whatever, and shows other people her naughty bits. Or cums for them/fakes cumming “for them.” Why? Because it doesn’t involve another guy (Barring the fact that in reality, it almost certainly will at some point – I know, I get it)

NTR is defined as a female who is in a set long term relationship, who gets involved somehow with another male, usually through blackmail/coercion and is thusly forced to continue said illicit relationship with the new male, until the dissolution of the original relationship entirely. Neotori is you cucking someone else (and that’s why many will accept that specific form of NTR in a harem game – as it doesn’t bork the power fantasy)

The thing about a cam girl is, if she’s just masturbating even with a dildo, she’s not actively doing anything with anyone else. By the most commonly held definition, it’s not NTR. She’s not actively denying the MC’s participation and generally will ask the player’s opinion in game, so unlike that specific event, the MC is not being sexually blocked off at any point. If MC is in the room with her and watching/actively participating, to a lot of devs that’s no harm/no foul… (I had this problem with a game called College Bound, wherein the girl that’s SUPPOSED to seem like the better option than your actively schitzophrenic girlfriend, is also a cam girl. You were SUPPOSED to have the option to tell her not to do that, if you didn’t want her to do that… but the dev never actually put it in and she kept being a cam girl throughout the story. Even after she got pregnant by you, and allowed you to get into threeways with her. Both of which imply a very serious commitment) For some, the possessive aspect in a healthy committed relationship says no bueno. For example, I’ll personally appreciate if my girl is hot; but that doesn’t mean anyone else needs to think so. Or have access to look.

Overall I would agree that a cam girl storyline is unnecessary and controversial; because there’s always a better way to make more honest if also less money in the short term. For my two cents, you’d think the girls would rather keep their dignity, but then again I’m not writing these games. Otherwise I’d be six pence none the richer… Not that I’ll expect anyone to get that in jest reference.
