Story - In "Family Secrets: Mommy," you step into a rather peculiar and constrained mother-son narrative set within an office environment. The premise has potential, but alas, it stumbles across the finish line. The storyline is a sprightly jaunt that fails to dig deep into character development, opting instead for a rather abrupt presentation that feels like it’s more of a rough draft than a polished tale. - 45%
Visual - The visuals are a mixed bag. While the animations are indeed smooth, describing them as lifelike would be pushing it; they come off as somewhat mechanical. Characters resemble stick figures with stiffness that strips them of personality. There’s an evident lack of nuanced facial expressions which renders emotional scenes almost robotic. The background and UI do a fair job of setting the stage. - 55%
Engagement - Engagement in "Family Secrets: Mommy" feels like a particularly breezy day; it’s there, but it doesn’t linger. The gameplay is short—clocking in under an hour—which could be perfect for a quick fix if you’re in the mood. However, with minimal player choice and a linear path, it lacks the kind of interactivity that keeps you invested. The characters and their interactions drift toward forgettable. - 50%
Core Loop - The core loop consists mainly of clicking through dialogue and watching scenes unfold, making it feel more like reading a brief novella than playing a game. The simplicity of the mechanics discourages deeper engagement and exploration, leading to a rather flat experience. Players looking for intriguing mechanics or layered gameplay will likely feel underwhelmed. - 40%

1.0 and it’s not complete. I wish AVNs used standard gaming numbers, also I don’t like when a dev says 0.4 FINAL, what does that even mean? The final version of 0.4?!
Just a little criticism: if there is going to be interaction with mom… from an adult perspective, please stop making the moms in these games look like they just started college. Yes, there are youthful mothers out there… but with 21yr old sons, you can put a few lines in their face… it’s okay.
if I want to look at teens all day, i’ll find that appropriate game elsewhere. It’s okay to age your models a little.
