Story - The story in Faculty is a chaotic mess, similar to a hurricane tearing through your hopes of finding a compelling narrative. Unfortunately, it fails on multiple fronts. Characters lack depth and substance, existing solely as anime stereotypes rather than fully fleshed-out individuals. The brevity of the game doesn't allow for meaningful development, leaving the relationships between characters feeble and devoid of any real connection. In short, this narrative fails to leave a lasting impact. - 35%
Visual - Credit must be given where it's due, and that is to the AI cg images used in Faculty. However, these visuals are not the creation of the developer, so their contribution to the overall experience feels somewhat hollow. While the artwork is decent, it can't compensate for the glaring flaws in other aspects of the game. - 60%
Engagement - Engaging gameplay is like a magnet that keeps players hooked from start to finish. Unfortunately, Faculty fails to wield that magnetism. With gameplay reduced to simple point-and-click decisions, it quickly becomes mundane and lacks any substantial interaction. The English translation and spelling issues add a dash of unintentional humor but fail to alleviate the monotonous gameplay. - 45%
Core Loop - Interacting with the game's core loop feels lukewarm at best. As you progress through the investigative plotline in search of a cult, you'll find yourself tangentially distracted by the urgent need to complete a research paper for your college. While this could have added an interesting dynamic, it falls flat due to rushed execution. The limited character development makes it difficult to connect with the heroines, leading to a lackluster experience. - 55%
