This mod uses the old v17 intro.rpy file content with modifications to override the original script labels to re-enable setting the definitions.

– improved explanation of definitions with hints when to capitalize
– nickname adjectives initialized at intro but can be changed in the nickname changer menu
– adds dynamically space between nickname adjective and any other [tags] if directly adjacent
– added missing company’s name change in the relationship changer menu
– inputs strip automatically leading/trailing spaces/tabs/newlines to avoid issues
– inputs return the default or last persistent definitions if empty, except nickname adjectives which can be left empty
– relationships and nicknames can be easily switched between original and family terms
– broken image references have been replaced by story ones and those without story appearance yet by their pinup image from their character screen
Right-click/Long-press on attached link and select Save link as…
Drop the BJMRelationshipChanger.rpy file into the game’s game folder.
Nothing will be overwritten.
Requires the original intro.rpy file to work properly, so don’t use any other related mods additionally!
Remove all BJMRelationshipChanger files if not needed anymore.
You might consider resetting the relationships and nicknames to “original” again before removing the mod.
Savegame-compatible as long as you don’t save during the relationship/nickname changes before removing the mod.
Keep in mind BJMRelationshipChanger still changes nickname adjectives in dialogue text on the fly, like “littlebro” to “little bro“, so keep the files installed if you still want such dialogue changes but don’t need to do other changes anymore.
Should be compatible to future versions as long as the author won’t do further changes there.
To access the configuration menu, select on the navigation’s Relations button and afterwards on the You/MC character on top.
For running sessions, make sure you set the relationship of Edmond/Dad/Father/Landlord/Mentor again as it has a new variable since v19.
The first variable [fn] defines his (call) name what is also used als character nameplate, while the second new variable [fr] since v19 defines his relationship to the MC.
If you have already played the game beyond the intro without the mod, use the reset to “family” terms option in the Change Relationships menu to automatically redefine to proper terms or manually go through all options below.
When (re-)starting a new game session, always set the special relationship of Ashley (“twin”), as this option is off by default on game (re-)start, while other definitions are persistent over different game sessions as long as you don’t remove/delete the saves\persistent file. This can also be changed midgame and easily turned on by resetting to “family” terms in the Change Relationships menu. This option gets disabled if resetting to “original” terms.
As there are no name inputs during the intro what Emma calls Lin and others, you need to go to Change Nicknames to edit these unique call names or simply reset to “family” terms in the Change Relationships menu. You can still do manual corrections after a reset.
Windows:
