Overall an unintelligent story, only to keep some suspense: don’t tell those who are the most special to MC something that would keep them safer. Carelessy blundering questions to increase the sense of peril.
Any one of them, or all, could be badly affected, e.g. the sister-like character to put them more in a dangerous environment. This while MC is off for a week playing the super hero: so ‘he can protect’ 3 to 6 or more people – he can’t be in more the one place at one time. That is unreasonable and beyond a suspense of disbelief. Better: tell a few people, those closest to MC, the truth, improve security of the home, make them aware of the danger, if not to also give them trackers, a panic button.
There are elements of a good story, but it suffers greatly from incredulous situations and reactions.
