I’ve been working on fixing bugs, recoding chunk of messy badly written codes, and polishing some things for Just Bros VN this month.
First off, I want to apologize for the delay—the upcoming update will now be released tomorrow. For anyone subscribed this month but not planning to renew next month, don’t worry! You can still request access to the VN once it’s live.
Now for the proper news:
Just Bros is getting a slight overhaul, starting with new added screens:
Relationship and Stats status screen
You’ll no longer need to slowly click through the message box to check your stats. A new screen will appear at the end of each chapter, allowing you to easily view all the points you’ve accumulated.
Letting you see stats only at the end of the chapter is designed so you can’t keep checking what increases after each dialogue option, especially when backing up during events is still allowed.
This feature still allows you to replay a chapter if you realize you’ve lost points with characters you really like and want to try again. This should give you more control over your decisions without the need for endless backtracking
Hopefully now it is clearer and easier to view the progress you have done
Chapter and Day Announcement
Another small changes is adding screens for Chapter and Day Announcement. So you know exactly when the event is taking place
Helpful hints
All information and hints will also be transferred to Screens
Remember the mess that is in the Treasure Hunt Arc? All clues will now display nicely and neatly on screens for easy viewing instead of scrolling through text box one by one. It will make the Treasure Hunt Arc and much more enjoyable experience.
The upcoming update also includes some minor fixes, such as addressing issues with receiving more than two blue tickets and ensuring certain scenes trigger properly. Unfortunately, I didn’t keep track of every fix as I was making them throughout the month, so I can’t provide a full list.
When do the changes take effect?
The changes has been implemented starting from chapters 1 and 8, as well as the latest chapter 29 and the upcoming chapter 30. So you can safely continue from where you end to the upcoming chapter 30 with no issue.
The older chapters will be updated gradually over the next update or two.
If you’re continuing from the latest update, the changes should not affect your save file.
To be on the safe side, it’s recommended to either load from the latest update or start fresh from the beginning. Loading saves from chapters in between may cause errors before they are updated.
