Compressed uses special programs to reduce file size—saves on bandwidth (many sites have limits!) storage, etc I wear glasses & generally prefer 720p (MAX)—-compressed RENPY look fine 98% of the time. PLUS, sometimes you DL something try it (UGH TOTAL CRAP!) & THEN DELETE!
Compressed DL files (7z usually best) takes up less SPACE while you play—-if you *REALLY* like it u can always DL higher Rez later
Just an FYI
Mostly they decrease (by various amounts) size/ratio of Audio & Video.
