There is one character, Mason, who is a girl who wants to be a boy and your character can treat him as one. The old version is not going away. The creator is not recreating the entire thing from scratch. There are now two versions, one for Patreon and one for Subscribestar. The version on Subscribestar is the full version with the dark, abusive path. The version for Patreon (called “Friends in Deed”, or “Friends Indeed”, I’m having some trouble getting a straight answer right now) is the version without the absusive path.
“Why would he do this?!?!?!!” those only looking for reasons to complain about things that don’t affect them complain. The creator is running a business and this is in response to something something Patreon. Sorry that the truth of how the world works is inconvenient to everyone looking to jerk off for free. (I’m not sorry, by the way.)
The creator also wanted to retool the first chapter to be more visually consistent to the rest of it, as it was modeled by a different artist. While he was at it, he’s adding more prologue to the story.
Chapter 1 will be changing in the full release. This means the next wave of complaints will be about having to play all 11 chapters over again. Well, let me tell you a secret called “Skip Unseen Text”. It’s in the preferences. You turn that on, hold down the Control key, and watch all that repeat stuff fly by. If this is onerous to you, I envy your privileged life.
tl;dr: This is not a complete rewrite, this is a second version just to keep Patreon happy. My suggestion for new people to play the current 11 chapters stands for now.
