Aside from the trans thing, it is actually a decent little kinetic novel.

They can be, but a lot of transgender people suffer from the anxiety that anyone standing up to a society who hates them might be, and that can ruin someone’s chances to be likable.
I don’t know why Anonymous Coward chooses to not be likable even though he is, I assume, at least male and white. Considering his inability to find a girlfriend or wife, I’d have to question if he’s straight. He has that Closet Gay Anxiety that a lot of closet gays do when they’re pretending to be straight.
