“A Better Tomorrow” is a story-driven Visual Novel made in Ren’py. With a small dose of comedy, my goal is to touch more on the serious part of life. Mainly, telling a story of the main character and his struggle for a better future, overcoming hardship and failure.
Yes, there will be over the top cliche characters and situations, but don’t expect monster fighting or pointless grinding for better stats (you’ll be using cheats nevertheless). Each character will have their storyline, and how you complete it is your decision. Every update will grow on existing storylines, but also on adding new locations, characters, events and so on.

Huge overhaul/cleaned the code/different event behaviour/many little fixes and decided it’s best to separate v0.35 (aka Part Two) from the older game versions, if you want to play Part One (0.24.9) check the download links under PART 1 spoiler tag.

The Ren’Py engine stores save games and persistent data under a separate folder. It’s exact location depends on the host operating system.

Only the VN intro is entertaining until the sandbox starts – the developer should continue this as VN, it’s funny and surprising there, the sandbox becomes boring and even frustrating when the relationship stats fall far behind what was already achieved in the intro
